FAQ

1.  Have you been to all the places you paint?

Yes, I paint my landscapes from photographs I have taken.  I travelled extensively in my 20s and continue to travel during time off from teaching.

2.  What is the process for how you complete a painting?

See “birch forest” completed step-by-step.

3.  Where do you get your frames from?

I order the frames online from www.canvasplace.com  and then finish them myself.

4.  Where do you get your art supplies from?

In Saskatoon my art store of choice is Art Placement.  They have an awesome staff who always helps me find what I need.  I also like Colours and buy canvas occasionally from Michaels.  Most of my paintings have been painted using KROMA acrylics, which are made locally by a store in Vancouver on Granville Island.  Whenever I’m there I stock up!

5.  How often do you paint?

This past year I have painted almost every weekend and probably averaged about 8 hours of painting a week.  Now I’m trying to paint more often, and am focusing on painting smaller pieces.  Check out my daily blog (www.saskartist.blogspot.com) to track my progress.
